AG00006_.gif (7905 bytes) My Visit to Valencia Elementary School
Laguna Hills, California
7 April 1998

This was one of the first schools I visited way back when I first became an author. It was wonderful to see so many dog-eared copies of The Cherry Migration floating around in the classrooms.

Valencia really knows how to do a great authors day. Thanks to Pattie Mercado for organizing it and inviting me. Thanks to Anita Takemoto for taking care of me all day. Thanks to all the parents who worked so hard and served the BEST lunch I have ever had at an authors day! And, of course, thanks to the students and teachers.
