American Tri

Long, long time ago
I can still remember
How the idea of cruising made me smile
And I knew if I had a chance
I’d buy a trimaran and then
I surely could be happy for a while

But just one thing that still was wrong
I did not want to sail alone
I tried it on the internet
On 7 knots I put an ad
I can’t remember if I cried
When I finally met this lovely bride
Alene, she touched me deep inside
The Tri, Alene and I

Refrain
Sail, sail on American tri
Fly the spinnaker and main under the deep blue sky
Them good ole cruisers drinkin’ beer and cocktail
Singing this must be the day that I sail
This must be the day that I sail

Verse 1 (Avel Mad)
Now for 5 years they’ve been on their own
And foul grows fat on Migration bottom
Since then they feel very happy

Now, when the captain sings for Alene
In a shirt from a Hawaiian queen
We hear his voice on the radio
So kindly Bruce gives meteo
Today rain, but a nice rainbow
Too bad, sailing is adjourned
They have time for honey moon

And while Alene read a book of Bruce
She finally found out the truth
She thought that Bruce was her light
She never felt so alive

Verse 2 (Sedna I)
I met Bruce on his trimaran
We all went down to the hotel
To see the dancers in the night
Bruce came up with a game we played
We talked about our family names
And told three stories, one of them’s a lie
Bruce is such a social guy
He always takes us on his tri
And guys, this is a really groovy
We’ve seen this amazing movie

Although he had to leave next day
And we tried hard to make him stay
He treats us in a friendly way
The Tri, Alene and I

Verse 3 (Anima III)
Torn and worn after a hot day’s swelter
The biggest boat should give us shelter
12 meters long, 8 meters wide
These red hulls, count them, if they’re three
Migration is the boat you see
And that’s the perfect place for us to be
The folding chairs they are the best
They give us cruisers comfy rest
All parties on Migration
Are always a sensation
And the hosts they know to do us good
They always serve delicious food
And keep us in a real good mood
The Tri, Alene and I

Verse 4 (qoVop)
And there, we all are in one place
a generation lost in space
With no time less to start again
So Bruce be nimble, Bruce be quick
Hurry take your fishing stick
Cause fish are the sailors only friends
And when you bring it on the deck
Call qoVop on the VHF
If we still have some beers
we’ll share it on the pier
As the moon keeps rising in the sky
it’s time for us to drink some wine
And we’ll be laughing with delight
Happy birthday all through the night

Verse 5 (Canela)
Did you read the sensible cruise,
And do you have faith in Neptune,
If the book tells you so
Now you’re cruising with your boat
Can the sea save your mortal soul
And can you teach us how to sail real slow
And Alene is in love with him
Like Canela is with beer and gin
These guys are really crazy
And most of time they’re lazy
So forgive us please, we’re not so bright
For us, it’s really hard to write
So let’s keep drinkin’ through the night
The Tri, Alene and I

Sail, sail on American tri
Fly the spinnaker and main under the deep blue sky
Them good ole cruisers drinkin’ beer and cocktail
Singing this must be the day that I sail

For Bruce's 50th birthday
